UniFormation has unveiled the S10, a desktop resin printer that handles printing, washing and drying inside one enclosure, cutting out the wet transfer to a separate wash station.

Fresh resin prints normally leave the machine coated in uncured material and go straight into a solvent bath. That short trip is where gloves become sticky, resin reaches the worktop and a second machine starts taking up space. The S10 keeps the handoff behind its tinted door. Once printing is complete, the same enclosure washes the build and dries it before the user opens the machine.

What comes out is clean and dry, not completely finished. Supports still have to be removed and the model needs its final cure. UniFormation also shows a curing module as an optional add-on for users who want to keep that last stage within the same setup.

The Wash Station Is Inside the Printer

The S10 combines its print chamber with a 9-liter wash tank and a heated drying stage. Build volume is 223 x 126 x 200 mm, drying runs between 35 and 45 °C, and the resin vat holds up to one liter. The machine itself measures 620 x 340 x 620 mm, so this is a substantial desktop appliance, but still one enclosure in place of a printer and wash station.

That consolidation is the real point of the S10. Formlabs and HeyGears automate washing too, but their desktop workflows use dedicated machines beside the printer. UniFormation calls the S10 the world's first fully automated desktop resin printer, and the one-box layout is what sets it apart.

The company is also thinking beyond a single desk. Its production setup connects as many as three printers to a separate fluid station that automatically fills and recycles the wash liquid. A two-stage cycle uses a rough wash followed by a fine rinse, which UniFormation says can extend the useful life of the fluid by half.

The S10 Pairs 16K Resolution With Assisted Release

Printing happens on a 10.1-inch monochrome LCD with a resolution of 15,360 x 6,540 pixels. Its 14.25 x 19.25-micron pixel pitch is intended for the miniatures, dental models and detailed prototypes UniFormation is targeting with the machine.

More interesting are the changes around the screen. The Z axis runs on a C5-class ballscrew, with repeatability rated at plus or minus 0.005 mm. Under the vat, an assisted release system pairs NFEP with a second film. UniFormation claims the arrangement cuts peel force by more than 30 percent, reducing the load placed on a fresh layer as it separates from the vat.

Pressure sensors watch for foreign objects that could spoil a build. Automatic resin feeding keeps the vat supplied, while factory pre-leveling, an anti-overflow design and quick-release vat and build plate are meant to shorten the work around each job. These are quieter features than the 16K headline, but they matter more if the S10 is expected to run unattended through washing and drying.

Slicing and Remote Monitoring

UniFormation Studio provides the first-party slicer, with five resin profiles prepared for common jobs: standard, ABS-like, wear-resistant, engineering and miniature-detail materials. The specification table also names Chitubox and Lychee, so owners will not be locked to one slicer. A phone can be used to monitor a running job, and UniFormation is pairing the software with a library of ready-to-print models.

The software side will be important because an automated machine needs more than motors to feel automatic. Reliable resin profiles, sensible wash cycles and a clear warning when fluid needs attention will decide whether the S10 actually removes work or simply hides it inside a larger enclosure.
