The XL+ adds 360-degree cooling and a permanent toolhead sensor Prusa claims aligns each toolhead about 20 times faster than the pin it replaces. Prices stay where they were, and existing machines get upgrade kits.

LightMake wants to retire two things at once: the drive belt and the toolchange. The L4 keeps four heads loaded and hands the print between them in a second, rides them on linear motors instead of belts, and asks $1,099 against a $2,399 MSRP.
