Bambu Lab Announces S1 3D Scanner for November
The Bambu Lab S1 3D scanner is due in November 2026, with an official teaser showing the handheld design first seen in September's FCC records.

Bambu Lab has announced the S1, a handheld 3D scanner planned for November 2026, confirming the device that appeared in FCC filings last month and showing its first official product image.
The teaser shows a black body with a broad front optical window above a narrower hand grip. Its outline closely follows the label-location drawing in the September filing, which gave an early indication of the scanner's shape.
The S1 was one of three devices in our earlier FCC report, alongside the AMS 3H and AMS 3P. The new announcement covers the scanner; it does not give specifications or release dates for those two material systems.

Bambu's move into scanning also follows a development agreement with Scantech, the manufacturer behind the 3DeVOK scanner brand. In its 2026 half-year report, Scantech describes a January agreement with Shenzhen Tuozhu Technology, the company behind Bambu Lab, to jointly design and develop consumer 3D scanners. Scantech would manufacture and supply the devices under that agreement. The disclosure does not name the S1 or link it to an existing 3DeVOK model.
For makers, scanning offers a way to start a design from an object already on the workbench. A curved housing or sculpted surface can provide a reference for a new part without having to recreate its shape from measurements alone. A captured surface is a reference for that work, not a substitute for setting the dimensions and clearances of a replacement part.
The announcement follows September's R1 laser cutter launch, adding another workshop tool to Bambu's range.
